A clear view from the local mountain
The Brandenkopf is 945 m above sea level and thus represents the highest point in the Central Black Forest. It has also lent its name to the entire holiday region of Brandenkopf which includes the locations of Zell a.H., Biberach, Nordrach and Oberharmersbach. A panorama from a viewing tower - approx. 30 m high - enables you to have a good look at the Rhine valley, the Vosges and, on a clear day, you can even see the Feldberg and the Swiss Alps!
Numerous hiking routes, mountain bike trails and circular Nordic walking paths start of from the mountain inn located on the Brandenkopf. Hikers on the "Westweg" reach the Brandenkopf on the stretch from the Hark to Hausach. In the winter months you can put on snow shoes and stomp through the deep snow just like a Canadian trapper!
The Brandenkopf is also accessible by car or coach via a tarmac roadway.
