The Westweg is the oldest long-distance hiking trail to be found in all European low mountain ranges and since 2006 it has held the special quality distinction "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares-Deutschland". In the context of the Fernwege.de Award 2007, 1.1 million persons voted the Westweg best long distance hiking trail in Germany. At international level this was only surpassed by the famous Jacob's Path.
You can do part-sections of this Premium hiking trail from Oberharmersbach and subsequently, when you have reached your destination, you can travel back comfortably by public transport – this is actually free of charge with the famous KONUS guest card!
